D.C. Everest Students Chosen for All-State Band

On Friday and Saturday, January 20 and 21, 2017, Allison Cotton, Nicholas Phalen, and Sydney Zimmerman, members of the D.C. Everest Senior High School Band, will be performing in the National Band Association (NBA) All-State Band. Their band director is Joe Finnegan.

Membership in the band signifies a level of achievement that places these student musicians in the top percentile among all student musicians in Wisconsin. This year’s NBA band will be conducted by noted composer and conductor Dr. Jack Stamp. Dr. Stamp is currently an adjunct professor of Music Education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Prior to moving to Wisconsin, Dr. Stamp served as Director of Band Studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for 25 years. He holds a DMA degree in Wind Conducting from Michigan State University where he studied with Eugen Corporon.

The All State Band will conclude the State Convention of the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Band Association with a Finale Concert at 7pm on January 21 in the Appleton North High School Auditorium. Brenda Zimmerman, DC Everest Middle School Band Director is a long-time member of the NBA and will attend the convention. The concert is free and open to the public.
