D.C. Everest Senior Veronica Frystak Places in Top 20 at DECA’s International Career Development Conference
The DECA International Career Development Conference is the culmination of the DECA year. DECA members demonstrate their college and career readiness by participating in DECA’s industry-validated Competitive Events Program, aligned with Career Clusters in the areas of marketing, finance, hospitality, management, and entrepreneurship.
D.C. Everest DECA was represented by 13 members from grades 9, 10 and 12 who competed for top honors. Veronica Frystak, a DCE senior and five-year DECA member, placed in the Top 20 in the Retail Merchandising Series.
DCE DECA was recognized for having four Gold Level School Based Enterprises: Everest Outfitters, Spirit Box, Everest Expressions, and the Tree Top Shop. DCE DCEA was also recognized as earning the Thrive Level campaigns.

DECA is an integral part of the classroom curriculum, aligning with standards in marketing, business management and administration, finance, hospitality, and tourism. DECA’s flagship evaluation process involves students in both a written component and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school.
