D. C. Everest Alumna Makalya Pagel Recognized as Outstanding Physical Education Major and Student Athlete
D.C. Everest alumna Makayla Pagel, a senior at Bemidji State University was selected as an Outstanding Physical Education Major by her faculty members. This is the second year she has earned the prestigious honor from the Department of Human Performance, Sport and Health.
In addition, Ms. Pagel was selected by the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE America) as one of SHAPE America’s Majors of the Year for her work ethic and contributions to her university and community. She will be honored at the SHAPE America National Convention and Expo in Tampa, Florida in April this year.
In January 2019, Ms. Pagel also received the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award. The award, which is named for late NCAA President Dr. Myles Brand, is given to senior NSIC student athletes with an average cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher who are on track to graduate. Ms. Pagel, who plays softball for Bemidji State University, received a certificate of achievement and a wristwatch for her accomplishments.
Ms. Pagel will graduate from Bemidji State University this spring and will complete her student teaching in Fall 2019.
