Enrollment Process



    At this time our lottery is closed and applications for those that attended meetings were due FRIDAY MARCH 5th @3pm.




    Families who wish to have their learner(s) attend Odyssey Elementary School please read requirements below.  

    Families interested in having their child attend Odyssey Elementary will need to attend a mandatory meeting and complete the lottery application (see meetings dates below.) Due to our educator-learner ratio, we will continue with grade level caps. For the 2021-2022 school year, we will be accepting enrollment for Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 4th &  5th grades. We are currently at capacity for 3rd grade for the 2021-22 school year. To be considered for the lottery and enrollment, families are required to attend one of these meetings.  After attending the mandatory parent meeting, a link will be sent the following day with an application to be filled out for the lottery. In addition, out of district students must also complete the open-enrollment process through the D.C. Everest School District once enrolled.

    Lottery Procedures

    • Lottery application submission closes:
      • Friday, March 5th @ 3:00pm
    • Lottery drawing held, annually on Tuesday before spring break: 
      • Tuesday, March 16th @ 3:00pm
    • 3:00 pm Lottery Drawing at Admin Building (District Admin Personal not working at Odyssey)
    • Read each family name and drop in a container.
    • Family names will be drawn.  As each card is pulled, the number of the card will be written on it.
    • Family names will be drawn and the names of the learners will be written down in order, until the maximum is reached.
    • Family names will then be drawn to form a waiting list. The names of the students will be recorded for the waiting list in the order that they are drawn.

    Waiting List Protocols

    • Learners will be called from the waiting list in the order they were placed when seats become available. Families will either accept the open seat or decline it. By declining the seat, the learner is removed from the waiting list. If a family wants to be considered for the following year for the next grade, they would need to reapply.
    • The waitlist will remain active until September 30th of the current school year.  At that time, no new learners will be accepted for the school year. There is the opportunity to re-apply for the next school year.
    • Periodically, the administration will review enrollment to determine if and how many seats are available for calling up students from the waiting list.

    Timeline (Key dates for the 2021-2022 lottery and enrollment process):

    • Mandatory Parent Informational Meetings:
      • January 14th at 6:00 PM 
      • February 24th at 6:00 PM
      • These meetings will be virtual and held on the app WebEx. Please download the WebEx app and enter the code 963 727 435 to join the meeting at the scheduled time. 
    • Application Process for next year Opens on January 14, 2021
    • Application for the lottery closes on Friday, March 5th @ 3:00pm
    • Lottery date – March 16th, 2021
    • Notification of enrollment status will be the next day via phone call - March 17th
