Gifted and Talented at D.C. Everest

  • Riverside Elementary houses the D.C. Everest District’s Gifted & Talented Magnet Program, which services select students in grades 2-5. This program is open to students within and outside of the D.C. Everest District.

This program offers an accelerated and differentiated curriculum for intellectually gifted students that emphasizes higher level cognitive skills, problem solving, logic and creativity. Students chosen for placement in the program need to acquire academic knowledge quickly, apply knowledge in creative and productive ways and demonstrate a strong desire to learn.

Once students are nominated, they are screened by professional in the following areas: mathematics, word identification, reading comprehension, creativity and the ability to learn. Each student candidate is assigned an identification number to ensure anonymity throughout the review process. Final selections are made by the Gifted and Talented Steering Committee with notifications sent to parents in April.

To nominate your child, simply download the Nomination Packet and submit the form to Riverside Elementary. For more information concerning the program, contact Principal Kevin Kampmann at 715.359.2417 or kkampmann@dce.k12.wi.us.
