Safety & Security

We have on-site School Resource Officers present at the DCE Middle School, DCE Junior High and DCE Senior High on a daily basis. Our officers play a critical role in supporting our students and we encourage students to speak with them about concerns they may have. Our officers also serve our elementary schools as needed. Rothschild and Evergreen also share an officer daily.

To assist students with educational, career, personal/social and health issues, we have a variety of student services staff available, including health aides, school nurses, school counselors, psychologists, social workers and community partnership coordinators. Our role is to provide students with assistance as needed and connect them with relevant school and community resources. To assist our students and their families with mental health issues they may be facing, we also have partnered with the Marathon County School-Based Counseling Consortium to provide students with on-site access to professional mental health professionals. For assistance with educational, career and personal/social issues and/or to learn more about the school-based counseling service, please contact the student services staff available at your student's school

Our district utilizes Gaggle, a digital tool that monitors school-provided communication and collaboration tools such as email, Google Drive, and OneDrive. Gaggle flags concerning content in students’ school-issued accounts for review and blocks potentially harmful content to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. We also use Content Keeper to filter internet traffic and block inappropriate web content on school devices — both on and off campus. We urge parents to also monitor their student(s) use of all online platforms.

Students. Please speak immediately with an adult, within the school building, whom you trust. If you are uncomfortable with that, please utilize one of the following:

• Crime Stoppers — tips can be left online or via phone (877-409-8777) or by using the P3 app available on students’ school iPads. 
• SPEAK UP — tips can be left via email, phone or text. SpeakUp is available on student iPads for grades 6-12.
