We prepare D.C. Everest students for 21^st century career opportunities by helping them develop the academic, career and life skills they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving job market. To develop those skills, we help students discover what their talents are, locate where their interests lie, determine what career paths suit their goals, provide them with hands-on educational and extracurricular opportunities, and help them become adept at applying what they’ve learned to real-world challenges.

Providing all D.C. Everest students with academic, career, community service and extracurricular opportunities is an investment in their future — and that of our community. So is providing opportunities to the next generation of educators. We provide aspiring educators — including current undergraduates and current DCE students — with opportunities to gain real world experience within the DCE District.

Our district hosts meet-and-greet events for aspiring educators to introduce them to the district and our staff, and we routinely visit college campuses to meet the next generation of educators and share the variety of opportunities D.C. Everest has available.

We also have developed a robust talent pipeline for young educators that begins with our Teachers Change Lives course where students can explore a career in education. The semester-long course includes in-class activities, prep days, practicum experiences with a teacher mentor, and developing a portfolio they can share when applying to universities. Upon completing the course, students can serve as education interns within the district and work for our Adventure Care summer program. 

In addition, we have a designated staff member who maintains contact with DCE alumni pursuing an undergraduate degree in education and helps them pursue college methods practicum, summer fellowship and student teaching opportunities within our district.
