Strength and Conditioning
Coach Expecations
Our Core Belief
At D.C. Everest, all student-athletes are expected to participate in year-round strength and conditioning to build endurance, reduce injury risk, and enhance performance. This program exists to support the long-term development, safety, and well-being of our students—not individual program agendas.
Program Leadership
All strength and conditioning programming is developed and overseen by our Strength and Conditioning Coach, Tim Strehlow. This is the standard for all programs and ensures consistency, safety, and alignment across the department.
Coach Responsibilities
- The strength and conditioning program is the foundation of athletic development at D.C. Everest and must be supported by all coaches.
- All varsity coaches are required to meet with Tim Strehlow prior to each season to develop sport-specific programming.Coaches are expected to utilize TeamBuilder to monitor athlete progress and performance.
- Coaches are responsible for holding athletes accountable for participation and effort both in-season and off-season.
- Athletes should be directed to the strength coach as their primary resource for physical development.
In-Season Expectations
- The athlete’s in-season sport is the top priority—this is non-negotiable.
- Coaches will fully support athletes’ time, energy, and commitment to their in-season team.
- No expectations, requirements, or pressures should come from outside programs during an athlete’s season.
Off-Season Expectations
- Multi-sport athletes will follow the program that aligns with their next upcoming season.
- Coaches must work collaboratively to support shared athletes.
- All off-season training must align with the department-wide strength and conditioning plan.
Unified Department Approach
- We operate as ONE athletics department.
- All coaches are expected to support the strength program and one another.
- Alignment, communication, and professionalism are required.
Student First Philosophy
- Students are students first—this is our foundation.
- Academic success, mental health, and overall well-being take priority over athletic demands.
- Coaches are expected to make decisions that support balance and prevent overload or burnout.
