Welcome to the 2024-2025 D.C. Everest Boys Basketball season! We are all looking forward to meeting and working with you all this year! Below is some important information you will need to know before Day 1.

Practice Information

First day of practice is November 18. Times/locations are for the first few days practice: 

• Grade 9 will practice from 3:15 - 5:30pm at the Junior High
• Grades 10-12 will practice from 5:30 - 8:00 pm at the Senior High

After initial cuts have been made all grades — 9-12 — will practice at the Senior High

The first three days of practice (11/18, 11/19, 11/20) will be considered try out days. These days will be used to help determine initial team rosters. If needed, cuts may be made after any of these first three days. With the third day being our final day of cuts. During these practices players will not have lockers. They will need a t-shirt, shorts, and basketball shoes along with a bag to carry their stuff home with them. 

On the fourth day of practice they will need to bring their own lock for their locker.

Players will continue to be evaluated throughout the season to make sure they are in the best possible place for them to succeed.

Communication

Prior to teams being set, Infinite Campus/Email will be used for communication. The players will be responsible for relaying any important information to their parents. More information, like practice schedules, will be given out after teams have been made.

8th Grade Boys Basketball Practice

What You Need for Basketball Practice:

• A pair of basketball shoes or shoes you are comfortable playing in.
• Athletic shorts and shirt.
• Come to practice prepared for the first day of practice.
• A combination lock for your athletic locker at Greenheck Turner Community Center.
• Water bottle
• All players are expected to be at practice every day and at all games, you will also be expected to help tear down chairs and scorer’s tables after all home games.
• Any academic or behavioral issues will affect playing time. Detentions and missing homework/projects will take precedence over practice or game.

Other Information:

• All players are expected to be at practice every day at Greenheck Field House from 3:05 to 5:00.
• Players are to board busses #1, #2, #5, and #9 in the Jr. High bus parking lot. These buses will travel to Greenheck Field House.
• Players are expected to be ready for practice at 3:05 and will be released for parent pick up at 5:00.
• Players should bring their own practice gear(basketball court shoes, shorts and t-shirt) for the first 5 days of practice. On the 5th/6th day - practice and game gear will be issued to all players for the season. This gear will be used for practice and games.
• Players missing practice are expected to have communication with their coach prior to missing practice.
• Players must be in school 100% of the day to practice or play in games. Attendance will be taken every day. Exceptions to this rule are; Dr.,dental/ortho appointments cleared through our attendance office at the Jr High.
• All players will need to bring a combination lock to secure their items in the locker room for the basketball season.
