Summer Learning Overview

June 15 - July 16 (No School On Fridays)

The D.C. Everest School District is offering an in-person summer program with fun and educational classes for students entering kindergarten through those currently in 11th grade. Please read the information on this page closely as it contains important details regarding our summer program.

Other program offerings are also available outside of the typical in-person summer learning program

Hmong Summer Enrichment Program

Open to all K-12 D.C. Everest and Wausau School District Students

  • July 20 - July 31
  • 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
  • Weston Elementary
  • Learn about the Hmong language, culture and history.

Engineering Tomorrow Camp

Grades 6-9 Aerodynamics and Sound Engineering Camp

  • Dates: June 23-June 25
  • Time: 12:30 - 3:00 pm
  • Location: Junior High
  • Registration closed on April 30.

Over three exciting days, students will step into the world of aerodynamics and sound engineering through two hands-on design labs. From testing airflow and analyzing sound waves to building and refining their own solutions, students will experience what it takes to solve real-world engineering challenges — start to finish!  Throughout the program, practicing engineers will volunteer their time to review student designs, offer professional feedback, and share insights from their own projects — giving students a unique opportunity to learn directly from industry experts.

Students will also take a field trip to the Greenheck Group Innovation Center Aerodynamics and Sound Lab to see how engineers use advanced technology to study airflow, aerodynamics, and sound mitigation in real-world applications.

Boys and Girls Club - Summer 2026

Boys and Girls Club will be providing transportation to Caroline S. Mark Site in Wausau. Pick up will be at 11:30 am behind the Junior High. Drop off will be from 5:00 – 5:30 pm behind the Junior High. Club staff will provide supervision while waiting.

The program will run Monday through Thursday, June 15-July 16.

Lunch and afternoon snacks will be provided.

Rollin' Readers

Summer reading prevents the “summer slide” and boosts skills for the upcoming school year. DCE Rollin’ Readers offers students in pre-K through 6th grade free books, reading acceleration, and the confidence that comes with reading success.

Join us weekly starting in June to pick up high-interest books to read throughout the summer. The books are yours to keep and build a library at home.


Rolling Mathletes

Math games! Students are encouraged to take a new game to keep each week.

Math Quest

A mathematical summer adventure.
