Aerodynamics (Grades 5-7):  In this lab, students are introduced to the forces an airplane experiences in flight. They will try to maximize the lift of their paper airplane designs and optimize lift-to-drag ratios to complete the distance or flight time challenges. Students should use the skills learned in this lab to design an accurate and precise paper airplane model.

Astrodynamics (Grades 8-11):  In this lab, students are introduced to spacecraft, launch vehicles, and orbits. They will use simulations to test and explore physics and vehicle design. They will also analyze the design of rockets through testing and iterating a balloon rocket.

Steps to Register for Courses in Infinite Campus

  1. Students will need to log into the Student Infinite Campus Portal. Parents can also use their Infinite Campus Parent Portal username and password.
  2. Go to the the Infinite Campus-Student Tab. Log into Infinite Campus. Once logged in, select the Menu icon (3 bars) in the green Infinite Campus bar. Select More > select Course Registration > Select 23-24 Summer option from the navigation pane on the left of the screen if you are registering a student in grades 4K-9. If your student will be bused from Mountain Bay Adventure Care in the morning and your school option is not Weston, please contact the summer school staff at 715-359-4221, ext. 1800 to switch schools.
  3. Select one to two classes (depending on if the course is one period in length or a full morning course) for in-person summer learning. Remember you can also add other course offerings. Go to Add Course (blue box at the bottom of the screen). Choose the course name for a description of the course (make sure to read the descriptions carefully). Select <Back to add another course. You can choose other courses as alternates in case your selected courses are canceled. A course will no longer be available to choose from if it has reached its maximum requests.
  4. When finished requesting courses, click the Print Request Summary option to print a report of the courses that were requested. No parent signature is required. This report is for student information only.

Important: To prevent other users from accessing the portal and changing requested courses, instead of just closing the browser, click the Logout option under the person icon in the upper-right corner. This will end the session and bring the user to the portal login screen.

You will receive a confirmation via email for enrollment. If you do not have an email on file, then a confirmation letter will be sent home through school with your child in May. If you have not received an email or letter by May 25, 2024, please call 715-359-4221 ext. 1800 or email the Summer Learning Program Office
