is Title 1?
Title 1 is a federally funded program designed to
provide extra help in reading and math. The federal government entrusts
the State of Wisconsin's Department of Public Instruction to regulate
the funds and procedures of you local school district's Title 1 Program.
How was my child selected to be in title 1?
Your child was selected because of test results and
teacher recommendations, and/or classroom performance indicated that
additional instruction in reading or math would be beneficial.
Is this an exceptional (EEN) or special education
program?
No, Title 1 provides additional help for regular
education students in need of such assistance.
How do non-public schools benefit from Title 1?
Non-public students who live in the attendance arrea
of a Title 1 public school district are eligible for Title 1 services.
the same criteria are used in selecting non-public and public school
students for the program.
