 Survey of Music History and Music Theory 

 1 credit; One year

 Prerequisite:  None

This course is designed for students who wish to further their knowledge of music through its historical and analytical context.

Course historical content includes the study of the history of Western music as it relates to other arts from the Middle Ages to the present.  The theoretical content includes the study of scales, keys, intervals, harmony; chord progressions, analysis, transposition, composition, rhythmic and melodic sight singing.
