DECA Member Wins at International Career Development Conference
Brandon Dively, senior, took first place in the world in the Professional Selling event at DECA's annual Career Development Conference held in Anaheim, California April 24-27, 2013. This is D.C. Everest's first-ever first-place winner at the International level.
There are a total of 47 events and therefore only 47 winners among the 16,500 DECA members from around the globe in attendance competing for the top honor of DECA Champion. Brandon took a marketing exam and executed a sales demonstration.
Cole Halligan, senior, earned the Emerging Leader Honor Award and was one of two Wisconsin DECA members to earn this prestigious award.
The DECA Depot, the school store, was recognized for achieving the Gold Level School Based Enterprise. This is the highest honor for a school store.

Gajewski, senior, attended the Senior Management Institute. The Senior Management Institute engages high school seniors in activities designed to prepare them to transition from high school to college and the business world. A highlight of this institute is the Executive Mentor Program where students interact in small groups with high-profile executives from DECA's National Advisory Board and other top companies.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in areas of marketing, finance, hospitality and management at the high school and college level around the world.
