Civil War Day Civil
war day allows our students to have a hands-on day of activities dealing with
the American Civil War (1861-1865). Having the opportunity to view a
simulated battlefield surgery, eating hardtack, or watching a play on the
"Fighting 54th" can be far more memorable than
simply reading about it in a text (not to mention a lot of fun for both students
and staff). Useful informational links: The History Channel's Civil War Site. A useful site for general info. http://www.historychannel.com/civilwar/ Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia. One of the best one stop sources for all your Civil War needs! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_civil_war American Memory (a subsection of the Library of Congress).
