BECOME A
BIG BROTHER/BIG SISTER SCHOOL BASED MENTOR!
Evergreen Elementary School and
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Marathon County are currently seeking Mentors for
our school-based program. In school based mentoring, teachers refer youth
who could benefit from additional attention and guidance. Volunteers then
meet with referred youth one-on-one during the school day, for a minimum of one
hour per week. Volunteers commit to meeting with the child for one school
year and must limit their meetings to the school grounds and supervised school
or BBBS activities. Mentors and youth usually spend some time on
schoolwork, but they also engage in other activities, including sports, games,
reading and eating breakfast or lunch together. For more information,

We are a K-5 school located in the Village of Rothschild, WI. Situated at the end of Pine Road, our school is surrounded by many acres of beautiful Jack Pine trees, hence the name Evergreen Elementary. Thank you for taking a minute to visit the various links associated with our wonderful school!

At Evergreen we are committed to focusing our efforts in
order to keep our school great! Evergreen’s
goals for the 2010-2011 school year are:
To improve reading and language arts skills for all students: The school board of the D.C. Everest Area School District has adopted the following goals. These goals are brought to the
attention of the community, the administrative staff, the teaching
faculty, and all other employees to enable them to be aware of the
direction in which the School Board will be exerting its
efforts. In the area of reading and language arts the goals

By 2012,
95 percent of all students will perform at proficient or advanced in
both reading and language arts on the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts
Examination as reported on the district performance reports. In
order to meet these goals, 94 percent of Evergreen students will perform
at proficient or advanced levels in the area of reading during fall 2009
administration of the WKCE assessments. In
the area of Language Arts, 85 percent of Evergreen students will perform
at proficient or advanced.
To improve math skills for all students: The school board of the D.C. Everest Area School District has adopted the following goals. These goals are brought to the attention of the community, the
administrative staff, the teaching faculty, and all other employees to
enable them to be aware of the direction in which the School Board will
be exerting its efforts. In the area math the goals are…
